I am not sure it is necessary any longer to stress how important the Internet is nowadays and it could be a work of epic proportions to describe all the things the Internet offers. Internetbased technology is something that we have learned to live with and cannot live without anymore. It permeates every pore of our lives, to the point that if it is not working, a person feels like they are missing a limb.

PricewaterhouseCoopers has its own private version of Internet called PwC Portal. The shared knowledge is so vast that it would be hard to find a topic on which there is no information available. It’s all thanks to over 146,000 people in 150 countries. But it also provides direct contact with other professionals through the technology of web casting that allows hundreds of people to join an online meeting, exchanging their knowledge and experience with their peers.

PwC is constantly developing new ICT solutions. Different lines of services have their own internet based applications (e.g. Global Office, GlobalVATonline) which allow them to administer and manage their work online, and anybody can contribute to and share it. Every employee within PwC uses iPower, an internet based management system which tracks our service production process. And PwC is developing the “Platform of the Future”, designed to help manage applications and people’s usage habits in the years to come, which will be yet another comparative advantage.

We have it all. And we constantly improve it. In today’s business world, IT environments are becoming increasingly complex while even greater reliance is being placed on the information produced by these systems and processes. The best way to do it is to tie the ICT to the Internet and just keep perfecting it. And we bear witness to the results every day.
